I am not a provider with insurance plans. I am available to submit any documentation needed for reimbursement. I do have flexibility with my fee schedule.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults.

I provide the following clinical services : Individual psychotherapy; play therapy; group psychotherapy; couples counseling; and family psychotherapy.

As a Psychoanalytic candidate I can provide psychoanalysis at a reduced fee.

Special interests include  grief and trauma counseling; mindfulness based stress management

Curriculum Vitae

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from George Mason University in 1980. I received my graduate degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1990. I worked for Fairfax County Community Mental Health Services for thirteen years. I provided individual, group, and family therapy to adults with serious mental illness. In 1993 I received my license to practice clinical social work in the state of Virginia. I began working in private practice providing psychotherapy to adolescents and their families. After completing clinical supervision in play therapy I left the county to work full time at the Oakton Family Counseling Center. In 2000 I joined Dr. Peter Robbins, MD and Dr. John Wires, PhD in partnership to form The Child & Family Counseling Group, P.L.C.

From June 2007 to June 2009 I provided clinical supervision to social workers in Fairfax County Department of Family Services. 

In June 2017 I began Psychoanalytic training with the International Psychotherapy Institute
