I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from George Mason University in 1980. I received my graduate degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1990. I worked for Fairfax County Community Mental Health Services for thirteen years. I provided individual, group, and family therapy to adults with serious mental illness. In 1993 I received my license to practice clinical social work in the state of Virginia. I began working in private practice providing psychotherapy to adolescents and their families. After completing clinical supervision in play therapy I left the county to work full time at the Oakton Family Counseling Center. In 2000 I joined Dr. Peter Robbins, MD and Dr. John Wires, PhD in partnership to form The Child & Family Counseling Group, P.L.C.
